Information we collect
When you request a quotation or contact us, we may collect your name, telephone number, postcode, job details, site-access information and any other information you choose to provide. Our hosting, security and third-party services may also receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you visit.
How we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, understand the proposed work, prepare quotations, arrange and deliver services, maintain business records, protect the website and establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
Our lawful bases
We generally process enquiry and booking information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform an agreed service, or because we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business. We may also process information where necessary to meet a legal obligation. Our website chat is provided by a third party and may receive technical information when a page loads.
Who we share information with
Information may be handled by trusted providers supporting website hosting, email delivery, IT security and professional services. If you choose to enable or use the WhatsApp chat, Elfsight and WhatsApp may process technical or communications data under their own privacy terms. We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect legal rights.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we expect providers to use an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including responding to enquiries, delivering agreed work, maintaining tax and business records, resolving disputes and meeting legal or insurance requirements. Retention periods therefore depend on whether an enquiry becomes a customer relationship and on the records involved.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information; restrict or object to its use; and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. These rights can be subject to legal limits.
To exercise a right, email liz@jembrickworks.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
Security and updates
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information, but no online system is completely secure. We may update this policy when the website, our services or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page.
